Dead Poets' Society / The Eagle crossover fic [13 Feb 2012|12:08pm]

pouxin
Hi Guys - I wrote this crossover fic with the characters from 'The Eagle', so I thought it might be worth cross-posting here - hope that's OK! I'm pretty new to LJ and fanfic, so hope this isn't any sort of etiquette violation - if so, my apologies. A lot of the supporting characters are sort of a mash-up between the two films, and obviously the concept, and some of the plot is from DPS.

Odi et Amo | Esca/Marcus | NC-17

Title: Odi et Amo (link to first part; all seven parts are up on my livejournal)
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Esca/Marcus
Summary: Esca and Marcus are at an all boys boarding school in the UK in the 1970s. They hate each other, until they both become members of the newly formed Dead Poets' Society... Adolescent ardor follows.
Word count: ~57k
Warnings: Explicit sex; language; (some) homophobic hate speech; reference to self harm; some (brief) violence

Acknowledgements: The story was written for this prompt by the lovely lalazee on the the_eagle_kink: Marcus and Esca both attend an all-boys school, and are a part of the Dead Poet's Society with several of their other friends. What starts out as simply reading poetry and 'sucking the marrow out of life' turns into accidentally locking eyes while reading poetry, turns into their writing their own poetry... secretly about each other. Turns into some very beautiful complications.

hellprincessxxs
Title: It's a gay, gay school
Author: hell_princessXXs

A/N: un-beta. I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me fix the grammar errors, since English is not my native language. I don't know if I should post it here, but well :">.

I’m looking for a fic that I once really enjoyed. I am not sure if it was on LJ or FF.net or someplace else, so now I don’t know where to look!

It’s this emotional fix-it fic where Neil decides not to kill himself. The morning after the play, Mr. Keating finds Neil crying outside his office (or maybe it was outside his dorm?), and Neil confesses what he tried to do. Mr. Keating then gives words of comfort – I remember that he says something like “oh, you extraordinary boy” – and the story ends with Neil deciding to live after all. I’m not sure if the other boys were there too.

Anyone happen to know what fic I’m talking about?

Fic search? [01 Jan 2011|09:13pm]

the_first_chibi
Hey, i'm looking for a fic and I know I read it from here but I've been through the posts twice and just didn't find it.

Todd accidentally gives Neil his notebook and Todd freaks out. He says he wants to flee to three places that are all one big word put together, and then Neil gets back to their dorm room.

And then i won't spoil the ending for anyone else who might get to read it in the future. That should be enough to go on, anyway.

If anyone knows this fic, can you please share a link?

Thank you!

Blown away [04 May 2010|09:12am]

Hi everyone,

This is obviously not a journal but I just joined — or I should say I just discovered this journal. I hope it's active and interactive. I can't believe that as a DPS enthusiast for all these years I didn't know where to look.

Frankly I hardly know where to look first even now, since this has been here for so long. If anyone has suggestions of best stories or anything else, please say hi. Looking forward to hearing from others. Best movie ever!

I just joined the comm, so I don't know for sure, but I hope fanvids are welcome around here.
I'm not sure how much slash would be in it. I didn't do it intentionally, but I'm bias, so you'll probably see it if you look for it. :3

Title: The Cave
Song: The Cave by Mumford and Sons
Fandom: Dead Poets Society
Pairing: If you look, you'll see it. :P

It says it's blocked in some regions, so you can download it here, too.

Feedback is always encouraged~

Two Hearts and Cigarette Smoke [09 Jan 2010|03:28pm]

[ mood | tired ]

Well hello there people!  A little while back I wrote a Charlie / Knox story and I thought I might share it with you.

Two Hearts and Cigarette Smoke

Pairings:  Charlie “Nuwanda” Dalton / Knox Overstreet, Chris Noel / Knox Overstreet (unrequited), Neil Perry / Todd Anderson (mentioned) (Dead Poets Society)

Rating:  NC-17

Summary:  After Charlie tells Knox to get over Chris, a chain of events begins and the truth is revealed.

Warning:  This contains SLASH!  Also, this contains Charlie’s jealous loathing for Chris, which means curses.

Disclaimer:  I don’t own Dead Poets Society (isn’t that depressing?) because if I did, Todd would never have to live a day without Neil by his side and Cameron would’ve gotten spanked.  HARD.  (Cameron:  “Oh…  Spank me ten more times Headmaster…  I haven’t learned not to fink on people yet…” XD)  Also, I don’t own the amazing words of Henry David Thoreau or the Scissor Sisters and their songs.

Fic: two roads diverged [26 Nov 2009|04:44pm]

aramley
I saw Dead Poets Society for the first time recently and loved it, but didn't like the ending. So I dealt with this the way all reasonable adults should: I wrote fic.

Title: two roads diverged
Pairing: Neil Perry/Todd Anderson
Rating: R
Wordcount: ~2800
Disclaimer: Not mine, never were.
Summary: A fix-it story.

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
and that has made all the difference.

Dead Poet Walking Fanfiction Archive [21 Oct 2009|10:02am]

khepri_bug
ANNOUNCING: a brand new Dead Poets Society fanfiction archive: Dead Poet Walking.

An interesting condition has been brought to my attention: DPS fanfiction, while it is still being produced, is not centralized. It therefore makes it hard for readers, especially new readers, to find stories, and for writers to find an audience.

So, the goal is to get as much DPS fanfiction in one spot as possible. If you have a fic, please check us out and post it. We are in need of authors!

Fic: Among the Multitude (Part One/?) [11 Oct 2009|02:42pm]

immaculate
I have been on a recent DPS binge (check my journal layout if you want to see just how crazy I've gotten) so I sat down for the first time in a long time and wrote the beginnings of a story.  It's not much, but perhaps it's a start. The name of the story, by the way, is also the name of a Walt Whitman poem.

Title:
Among the Multitude (Part One/?): In which Todd Anderson keeps up old habits.
Author: [info]immaculate
Fandom: Dead Poets Society
Pairing: None at present, heading towards Neil/Todd and perhaps some others.
Characters: Eventually all of our Welton Boys. Featured here are Todd, Neil, and Meeks.
Rating: PG-13 for swearing.
Disclaimer: Not in any way connected to the movie.
A/N: This story will follow our boys' lives (and especially Todd) from the beginning to the end of the time frame set up in the movie.

Hi I'm new. I wrote this peice about a year ago. I would love to share it here. This movie has really inspired me.

Title: Requiem for a Dream
Fandom: Dead Poets Society
Genre: Drama/Friendship
Total of Chapters: 15
Chapters under cut: Requiem for a Dream, Footprints and Structure and Discipline
Story link:requiem_for_a_dream♥
Summary: It is only up to Neil Perry’s guardian angel to make him understand just how much an impact he had on everyone’s lives and how lost they’ll be with out him. But the dream of acting has always been his only comfort and without it he feels he has nothing.

I'm new here...
I recently watched DPS for the first time and I was inspired instantly by Neil's predicament... hence this piece:

Title: Desperation Dissected
Author: goldfeathers_hq
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Neil x Todd strong friendship
Summary: Neil takes the gun to class with him. With this leverage and comfort in his pocket, he asks for help. Can he give up his last resort when offered the help he needs? Or is he too desperate to?

Hey all! Just rewatched Dead Poet's Society and was inspired to write this little ficlet. First time I've ever written anything for this movie. Hope you like it!

Title: Cold
Author: Aisalynn
Characters: Todd, Neil
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: I do not own Dead Poet's Society and am not making any money off this story. Do not sue.

A/N: There's nothing in here that explicitly mentions slash, but I cannot watch or read anything about Dead Poet's Society without slashing Todd and Neil, and as far as I'm concerned, it's there, whether mentioned or not.

He wasn't surprised, afterwards, to hear that it had happened in his father's study.

Dead Poets Society fanfic: A Tale for Winter [02 Jan 2009|01:54pm]

phoebesmum
Title: A Tale for Winter
Fandom: Dead Poets Society
Main character: Neil Perry
Rating: PG
Category: Gen; approx 3,280 words
Summary: A sad tale's best for winter, but 'sad' need not always be 'tragic'.
Written: For norah for yuletide, December 2008; she asked for "A fix-it story where Neil lives; a happy ending." I hope that this fills the bill.
Notes: Many thanks to mythichistorian for an excellent beta job and for the improvements she suggested; any remaining flaws are, of course, entirely mine own.
